Massage therapy classes are obviously offered as part of an in depth curriculum at any one of numerous massage therapy schools, but did you know that there are many community centers and schools  that provide introductory class massage therapy to the general public as well?

In class massage therapy or earlier student often involve practical training in Swedish massage, deep tissue massage and kinesiology, students commonly will learn about introduction to range of motion and common musculoskeletal disorders and conditions. In more advanced massage therapy classes, extensive training is provided in highly developed bodywork modalities like meridian therapy, shiatsu (a form of acupressure), medical massage, geriatric massage, prenatal and infant massage, animal massage, Thai massage, craniosacral therapy, among others.

In addition to classroom training, students participating in more advanced massage therapy classes will frequently gain practical clinical experience as well.

Depending on the program in which you choose to enroll, class massage therapy often vary in time, curriculum and massage modalities.

In massage therapy classes students learn how to improve massage techniques and skills. This means learning many different movements, improving your overall skill and learning when to give each type of massage. You’ll also learn a lot about the body, how it works and how a massage affects the systems in the body including muscle tissue, the circulatory system, the skin, and even the lymphatic system. You’ll learn light energy work as well as structural bodywork modalities, Eastern as well as Western theory and technique, and how to treat specific pain and dysfunction as well as a holistic approach to health and healing

Look for a massage school that provides a certification in massage therapy. It takes more than one massage therapy class to learn a skill to fund your life.

There are many options out there if you are looking to take class massage therapy. There all also many options available if you are looking to become a certified massage therapist. The massage therapy class that you are looking for may be offered in multiple venues and arenas depending on your specific field of interest. No all classes will be taught on the same level however. There are other colleges and universities that will incorporate the class as part of a curriculum for a larger degree program. Look into healing schools as well as different programs that are offered through vocational school as well. The massage therapy classes are there to teach massage therapy that you want just look for it and find it.
